Myself and my buddies did this tour on a Thursday morning.
We were there for opening at 9.30am as we wanted to head out on the first tour of the day and hopefully be the only ones on it.
Just before we took off, another 3 or 4 people arrived meaning we were unlucky in that respect but a tour of only 7 people was still a good result for us ha!
Payment was taken and we were on a small bus (about 20 person capacity) with our driver and tour guide Roberto Rodriquez.
The tour took two main parts – firstly a city tour going around all the major landmarks and buildings, and then the second part based around the JFK assassination (told through the timeline of Lee Harvey Oswald). As someone who hadn’t a massive interest in the JFK shooting originally I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this tour and the detail they went into. The stop at the Oswald Rooming House is undoubtedly the highlight and a real thrill to be in a place that LHO was on that fateful day. By the end of the tour I was hooked on this story.
Roberto was excellent, knowledgeable and very friendly: even when the other people in our tour group were quite rude to him complaining about his accent and how quickly he talked – utter nonsense!
If I had friends visiting Dallas, I would recommend they partake in this tour – it’s a great way to get your bearings of the city as well receiving a thorough understanding of the JFK assassination.
